Cybozu Labs was established on August 1, 2005 (Monday) with a mid- to long-term goal of developing software that promotes information sharing. Cybozu Labs pursues new technologies in its role as a research laboratory for Cybozu, providing software that promotes information sharing around the world.
I am interested in Mr. Oku’s work with integrated development environments for Web applications recognized in the New Software Development Project held by the IPA and used this as my opportunity to speak with him, but now I have the chance to work with him. We are extremely happy that Mr. Oku, who is already widely know for his world-class achievements, has chosen to join Cybozu Labs, and are counting on him to achieve great things while working for us.
I decided to join the team at Cybozu Labs since I believe the company offers an environment in which I can achieve my full potential through the exchange of opinions with other engineers. The company is one of few software development companies within the IT industry in Japan, and it is rare to find a workplace like this where you can concentrate on developing technologies beside such top-class engineers. While at Cybozu Labs, I would like to accomplish results that make the others glad I joined the team.
To date, Cybozu has developed and released a variety of easy-to-use business software applications. In order to realize these, the company has had to develop a variety of superior technologies, including CyDE2*, a development framework. To concentrate on growth on a worldwide scale in the future, Cybozu established Cybozu Labs to specialize in research and development activities. At Cybozu Labs, we pursue new technologies with a mid- to long-term goal of developing software that promotes information sharing. In addition, Cybozu Labs aims to develop software that will become the world standard, as well as provide Free/Libre and Open Source Software (FLOSS) on a global scale under certain delivery conditions.
