英語ITブログAsiajinの問い合わせアドレスに、「アジアでのドメイン名に関する問い合わせ」というのが来ていた。おおざっぱに訳すとこんな内容。

我々はグローバル企業のアジア地域でのドメイン名登録と知的財産権保護の紛争解決を行なっている組織です。貴社の確認が必要な緊急の用件でご連絡差し上げました。

2009年5月8日付けで、「JCJCインターナショナル ホールディングス社」から以下のドメインの登録申請を受け取りました。

インターネット商標
Asiajin

これらのドメイン名や商標は、貴社のものと一致するように見えます。そこで、

1. JCJC社がこれらのドメイン名を登録しても良いなら、そのまま彼らに登録を許可します。

2. もし貴社とJCJC社に全く関係がないなら、彼らは貴社のドメイン名や商標を登録することで何かをしようとしているのかもしれません。

この問題に対処するために、至急メールかお電話をいただければ幸いです。

「アジアジン」のドメインを中国・香港・台湾で取ろうとするなんて、Asiajinも有名になったもんだ、と一瞬思ったけど、広く周知もしてないアドレスにこんなメールが来ること自体引っかかるので、メールの文面で検索してみたら、日本語はまだ無かったけど英語ではいろいろ情報が出てきた。

まず、Jason Calacanis氏が先月に「これ詐欺だよね?」と書いている。

そしたら、このメールを出してきた本人から、「いや、詐欺じゃありません。あなたのドメイン(calacanis.hk, .tw, などなど)を取ろうとしてるのはSeth Godin(セス・ゴーディン, マーケティング本の有名人)という人物です」という笑える追伸が送られてきたという。

カラカニス氏は、この詐欺犯が「どんどん上手になっている」と褒めているが、まあなんというか(笑)。

このスパムに反応して次にどうなるか追った人も居る。

「たしかに○○.comは当社のものですが、香港や中国の○○を取ろうとしているというその会社は知りませんし関係もありません」

by スパマーの次の一手を見てみようと返事してみた人

と返事したら、

「アジアでのこれらのドメインを守るために、3営業日以内にご連絡ください。もしこれらのドメイン名を登録しないと、世界レベルでこの○○ドメインと商標は法律的にあちらの会社のものになります」

by 元のスパマー

と続くようだ。

つまり、仮に中国や香港で自社の商標ドメインが取られようと気にしないような規模の会社でも、うっかり返事すると次は「全世界であなたの商標が取られます」と言い、必ず何かを売りつけようとするということ。

この人たちの詐欺メールが以前から続いてるんだとすれば、騙されていろんな国のドメインを(おそらく正規に買うよりずっと高価で)買わされる会社もいるのだろう。

英語のメールにわざわざ反応して、その上で騙される日本の会社がそんなに居るかどうかわからないけど、そのうち日本語でもやってくるかもしれないし、注意を促す意味で紹介しておくことにした。

メール文面で検索する人もいるだろうからオリジナルもつけておく。こんな感じ
